He married Ruiha in 1880 in Helena Bay.

Children

Kerehi was born about 1877 in Whangaruru. She married Pierre Hayward Calkin about 1903 in Whangarei. They had Pita/”Peter” Hayward Calkin on January 29, 1904. Kerehi died on June 27, 1945, in Whangaruru.
Harata was born on July 10, 1881, in Helena Bay. She died on September 30, 1896, at age 15, in Whangaruru. She was also buried in Whangaruru.
Ruiha was born about 1882 in Katakana and died the same year. She was buried in Katakana.
Hoana was born on March 11, 1884, in Whangaruru. She married Morore Kai Kaupeka Piripi on July 5, 1901. They had Ruiha Piripi in 1902, Henare Hemara Piripi in 1903, Mere Paea Piripi in 1905, Katerina Piripi in 1906, Riripeti Te Kohuroa Piripi in 1908, Raukura Katirutu Gertrude Piripi in 1910, Mihiterina Te Matoha Piripi in 1913, Hera Hokimate Piripi in 1914, Henare Hetaraka Piripi 1916, Himi Tauri Piripi in 1918, Te Tawaroa Piripi in 1921, Maukino Piripi in 1922, Takarihi Matekohuru Pipiri in 1924, Houpeke Morore Piripi, Taukiri Wahine Piripi in 1928, and Kuikui Akinihi Morore Piripi in 1930. A number of their children died young. Ruiha died at 13 days old, Mere at eleven, Katerina at two years and four months, Te Tawaroa at six months, and Takarihi at three months. They also had two children whose names aren’t known, believed to have died at birth, one in 1904, and one in 1911. Hoani died on October 18, 1953, in Whangarei and was buried there three days later.
Hera was born on October 3, 1886, in Whangaruru. She died on February 4, 1900, at age 13 and was buried in Whangaruru.
Renata was born on August 23, 1888, in Whangaruru. He died the same day.
Mehua was born on May 11, 1890, in Whangaruru. She died on May 11 the following year age age one.
Ngatikura was born about 1891 in Whangaruru and died the same year.
Hemi was born on January 18, 1892, in Whangaruru. See here for more information.
Waata was born on February 8, 1895, in Whangaruru. He married Hurikino Te Atawiki Raiha Wiapo. They had Hami Wiremu Matenga in 1917. He died on December 11, 1939, in Whangaruru.
Opai was born on September 30, 1899, in Whangaruru. He married Zipporah Stirling on February 14, 1929. They had Edna Maraea Matenga on October 17, 1929, and Dulcie Waipato Matenga in 16 January, 1931. Dulcie died at age four. Opai died on May 28, 1935, in Whangaruru and was buried there.

Hoori died on November 2, 1924 in Whangaruru and was buried there three days later.
