Ingredients

Cake batter:
2 cups plain flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
100g butter
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup milk
Chocolate sauce:
3/4 cups cocoa
1 cup sugar
2 cup boiling water
Equipment/Utensils
2 large bowls
Pie or casserole dish
Whisk or fork
Rubber spatula
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180’C.
Grease the pie or casserole dish.
In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa baking powder and salt. Mix well to combine.
In a separate bowl cream the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well.
Slowly incorporate the flour mixture into the butter mixture, stirring gently. Be careful not to over mix.
Pour mixture into pie dish and use rubber spatula to level mixture if needed.
Mix cocoa and sugar using the dry ingredients bowl and sprinkle evenly over the batter.
Gently pour boiling water over the mixture so that the water sits on top of the batter.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
